Photography Classes

Learn the Skills of a Professional!

Beginning February 2011 I will be hosting a limited number of photo classes and workshops in the Cache Valley area. Classes will be held at Expercom in Logan.

The classes are geared toward digital SLR owners who want to get more out of their powerful, feature-filled cameras. You bought the camera so you could take great pictures, here is your chance to make it happen! The basics are simple to learn and easy to apply.

The first course currently being offered—Basic Photo—will be joined by three more courses in following months: Advanced Photo, Basic Post-Processing, and Advanced Post-Processing.

The courses will be held once per week and will be comprised of 4 one-hour classes. You will learn how to get great images using simple techniques from a real pro with over 17 years of consumer and commercial photography experience. You will also show your work, critique, and grow. Whether you want to improve your photography business, or simply get better shots of your family, these courses have helped professionals and non-professionals alike.

The price will be $250 for each four-week course. The class sizes will be small (6-10 people). I recommend that you purchase a 50mm f/1.8 lens ($125: Nikon, Canon) if you don't already own one. I may have some available for rent.

Basic Photo

Basic Photo covers the foundational elements of photography—everything from exposure, composition, and rules of thumb to simple real-world tricks you can use to get your subject to feel comfortable and look great.
